Cuz someone has to be first...

Here's my list, ordered only alphabetically.
I cannot pick a good top-10, without a framework, so I look forward to some of the lists from the possible challenges.
Barth, John: The Sot-Weed Factor
Cooper, James Fenimore: The Deerslayer
Derrida, Jacques: The Work of Mourning
Doctorow, E.L.: The Book of Daniel
Everett, Percical: Erasure
Faulkner, William: The Sound and the Fury
Melville, Herman: Moby-Dick
Pynchon, Thomas: Gravity's Rainbow
Whitman, Walt: Leaves of Grass [1855]
Woolf, Virginia: Mrs. Dalloway
I know that this list is fiction-heavy, and that's because I so enjoy fiction much more than other genres, both for my work and for pleasure.
Have at me!
